Evangelism Boot Camp — Campers Comments

See what the cadets had to say after they got back from the Evangelism Boot Camp.

What 1-2 things would you add or change about EBC?
Nick Astacio
Bronx, NY

I would make the boot camp longer.

Rick Barnes
Crystal Lake, IL

Make it 2 weeks!

Betty Taylor
Brownwood, TX

The time frame is good, especially for Moms and working people.

Was EBC Less, More or about what you expected?

Bill Frederick
Raleigh, NC

Far more than expected.

Bill Cusick
Leesburg, IN

Much more.

Matt Dodson
San Leandro, CA

More than what I expected.

Would You Come Again?

Nick Astacio
Bronx NY

EBC9 here I come!

Brad St. Clair
Branson, MO

I would love to go to a boot camp again.

Matt Dodson
San Leandro, CA

Without a doubt. The fellowship was crucial.

Paula Hicks
Austin, TX

Yes!! and again and again, if the Lord will it!

What are the two biggest or most vital things you learned at EBC?

Joan Fudala
Harker Heights, TX

First, that we all are precious in His sight; he ones with multiple piercing and the ones who profaned His holy name. To know that God loves them and doesn't want them to perish. That we need to see them through His eyes and heart. Second, that pride is so easy to have but so despised by God. All the success stories were because of Him and came about to bring Him the glory. When we get caught up in what "we" accomplished, it robs Him of that which He so richly deserves.

Brad St. Clair
Branson, MO

1) Being around like minded believers, who are on-fire to share their faith and be a witness to reach the lost is of vital importance. We all need to find Christians like minded and fellowship with them, as well as going out to seek and save the lost with them.

2) Something that was drilled into us...have love and compassion for the lost. Do not only pass out tracts just to pass out tracts. Do not open-air preach just to open-air preach. Take the time to learn about the person, love on them, take an interest in them - then share the law and/or gospel with them.

Bill_Cusick
Leesburg, IN

I knew there was more out there than what I was being taught and that being around like minded believers gives you strength. When two or more are gathered in His name... The other thing I learned is this is serious stuff and it is effective!!

David Redondo
Apache Junction Area, AZ

To be prayed up and to continue praying always and giving thanks to God and giving Him all the praise and Glory.

What would you tell someone if they were wondering why they should attend the EBC?

Rick Barnes
Crystal Lake, IL

I would say that going to a camp would grow you even when you think you don't need to be grown. You can learn from people that have been out on the streets for years as well as those that are new, we can all learn from each other.

Brad St. Clair
Branson, MO

If you want to be around Christians that are all on fire to witness and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, then go to the boot camp. Being around like-minded people stirs your spirit and gives you more boldness and courage than you would have on your own. This allows you to put into practice all of what you have learned by watching "The Way of the Master" television program. The leaders are right there with you, showing you, by example, what you need to do and how to do it. They encourage you, press you, and stretch you, bend you, and twist you well beyond what you think you will be able to do spiritually. Why do you think this is called a boot camp? I was in Marine Corps boot camp - I know all about it.

This boot camp has changed my life.

Bryan Acred
Austin, TX

I would say that this an avenue in which you will become more intimate with the bride of Christ and that your passion for the lost will increase. It will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and realize the battle is the Lord's and that you will be an instrument in which He will receive the
glory.

Bart McCurdy
Cottonwood, CA

Go, it's unforgettable and it gets you re-energized and even more on fire for God!

Do you have more or less fear about sharing your faith?

Nick Astacio
Bronx NY

Less. It's still there, but the impact on my witnessing is less.

Bill Frederick
Raleigh, NC

More and Less. More: being that there are so many lost. And less: in feeling that I am leaning more on GOD

Bill  Cusick
Leesburg, IN

Less by far with the help of everyone, I saw with my own eyes it could be done. After applying what I learned myself it really built confidence.

Matt Dodson
San Leandro, CA

A lot less fear.

Tommy Bell
Long View, TX

Less.

Joan Fudala
Harker Heights, TX

I still have the fear, maybe not as much. But now it doesn't matter because I care about their eternal destiny and know that God deserves ALL of me, not just the part that is comfortable and convenient.
